If you are installing MS Communicator on an Windows XP Workstation, but the installer is failing at the last phase of the install. by SAYING "Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 was not installed". The installation was interrupted.
There will be no error logged in event manager.
This issue is causing by Microsoft HOTFIX KB974571 is applied on windows XP machine.
Removing this hotfix will resolve the issue. once the communicator installation is complete after removing this hotfix you can reinstall the hotfix on windows xp.
